Rick Hirsch, with roots in Macon, GA, is a songwriter and musician who was a member of Wet Willie

Rick Hirsch

Musician/composer and BMI songwriter, Rick Hirsch's roots are imbedded in the antebellum South, Macon, Georgia and Alabama to be specific. Quite soon in 1969, he helped found the Seventies rock and roll band eventually known as WET WILLIE, a group on the Capricorn label sharing the roster with several other bands including the Allman Brothers (the original ones). Wet Willie enjoyed some nice successes during the band's tenure on Capricorn, eg. a Billboard Magazine top 5 hit, Keep On Smilin' and a dozen or so albums. By 1976 though, "thrill turned to chill", or was at least put on the back burner, and Rick had an opportunity to record and tour with Cher and Gregg Allman, who were preparing to do their duo album, Allman and Woman.

As an agent, Hodges represented such acts as Otis Redding, Sam and Dave, the Allman Brothers Band, the Atlanta Rhythm Section, Lynyrd Skynyrd, the Police and the Charlie Daniels Band, and he was the manager of Stevie Ray Vaughan at the time of his death.  He was co-founder, president Paragon Agency, Macon, Georgia, 1970-1979. Susan Hutcheson

Susan Hutcheson was a songwriter from Atlanta, GA. She met Alicia Bridges in 1976 and signed a publishing deal with Bill Lowery. Polydor Records released the song "I Love The Nightlife" in 1978, written by the pair in 1977, which became a smash hit in the dance clubs and on the Billboard National Disco Action Top 30 chart peaking at #2 and #5 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart.

Graham W. Jackson Sr

Graham W. Jackson, Sr from Atlanta, GA is known for his ability to master multiple musical instruments and was a theatre organist, pianist and choral conductor. Jackson became a personal friend of Eleanor and President Franklin D. Roosevelt, playing numerous events in Washington, DC. He was present at Roosevelt's home in Warm Springs prior to his death collaborating on Antonin Dvorak's  song "Going Home" the day before. He played the song on accordion as the train with Roosevelt on board left the station. Jackson's photo, tears coming down his face while performing, was taken by a Life Magazine photographer and appeared on the cover of the magazine. November 30, 1971, he was named Official Musician of the State of Georgia by then Governor of Georgia Jimmy Carter. He was inducted into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame in 1985.

Harry James

Harry James from Albany, GA was a trumpeter, big band leader and musician. In 1937 he joined Benny Goodman's Orchestra and later started his own band, Harry James and His Music Makers producing a hit, "You Made Me Love You", peaking at #5 on the Billboard National Best Selling Retail Records chart in November 1941. The song would stay on the charts for 18 weeks and remaining in the top 10 for ten weeks. The band would become known as Harry James & His Orchestra which was the first orchestra featuring vocalist Frank Sinatra. Sinatra would give the eulogy at James' funeral. James was inducted into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame in 1983.

Archie Jordan is a singer songwriter who resides in Perkins, GA. He signed as a writer with Chess Music in 1975, and two years later Archie Jordan was to have his first single (co-written with Hal David) titled It Was Almost Like A Song. Al Kooper is a songwriter, musician and record producer. In 1965 he co-wrote the smash hit "This Diamond Ring" by Gary Lewis and the Playboys. In 1972, Al Kooper moved to Atlanta, GA attracted by the music he heard there. He discovered Lynyrd Skynyrd at a favorite hangout. Forming his own label (Sounds of the South) to put out their records, he produced their first three albums, which included the massive hits "Sweet Home Alabama," "Saturday Night Special," and "Free Bird." In 2007, Kooper was inducted into the Rock n Roll Walk of Fame in Hollywood on Sunset Boulevard. Later in the year he was named as recipient of the Les Paul Award for his life's work and was presented with the award in New York City by Les Paul, himself.
