Country music group, Confederate Railroad (Atlanta, GA) first rolled onto the national country music scene in the early 90s with its unique style and sound.


Headed by founder and front man Danny Shirley, the former backup band for both David Allan Coe and Johnny Paycheck got their big break by signing with Atlantic Records. The first single from their debut album ("Confederate Railroad") was "She Took It Like A Man". It went to No. 26, a preview of what was to come. "The next two singles, "Jesus and Mama" and "Queen of Memphis" went to the top of the charts. Three more huge hits followed, "Trashy Women", "When You Leave That Way You Can Never Go Back", and "She Never Cried". "Trashy" would lead to a Grammy nomination and become their signature song. That album with six hits and nearly three million sales brought Confederate the Academy of Country Music's Best New Group Award in 1993 as well as numerous nominations from the Country Music Association and the British Country Music Foundation.

Darby & Tarlton

Darby & Tarlton was a country music duo from Columbus, GA, Tom Darby and Jimmie Tarlton. They were signed to Columbia Records in 1927 released 4 songs recorded in Atlanta, GA that sold 200,000 copies. They recorded 63 songs between 1927 and 1933. Their most famous work, “Columbus Stockade Blues”, has been covered by artists ranging from Doc Watson and Willie Nelson to Bill Monroe, Jimmie Davis, and Bob Dylan. The duo retired in 1935 but reunited for a concert with the Columbia Symphony Orchestra's opening pop concert in 1963.

Hannah Dasher is a spunky, sassy country music singer songwriter from Savannah, GA, lovingly nicknamed Hannah Damn Dasher. She co-wrote a cut, "Go To Bed Early", recorded by Brad Paisley on his #1 album Love and War in 2017. Dasher also co-wrote "LA" recorded by Lainey Wilson for the 2019 EP Redneck Hollywood. She released several recordings herself September 27, 2019 "The Tree" and in 2021 "Left Right", which she co-wrote with a hit songwriter from Georgia, Wynn Varble on The Half Record, a compilation of five songs. She told The Boot about the song "Left Right", " You've got the songs that you work for ... and then you've got the ones that [just come out] ... The lyrics just came right along with the melody; I just regurgitated what I was catching out of the sky." She also has a cooking series on Tik Tok that's garnered 1.4M followers with 17.7M likes.

A native of Warner Robins, Georgia, Travis Denning, a country music singer songwriter, is a natural guitar slinger and gifted live performer, who often injects his humor into stage shows and singles alike. Denning first picked up a guitar in grade school, and by the age of 16 was turning heads at the front of a rowdy bar band every weekend. Still, he put off moving to Nashville until he was 21, quickly establishing his songwriting cred with cuts by Jason Aldean, Justin Moore and Chase Rice when he did. Karen Fairchild is a country music singer songwriter and member of the country music group Little Big Town. She grew up in Marietta, GA. She met Kimberly Schlapman while attending Samford University in 1987, where both sang vocals in the schools ensemble.  In the mid 1990's, Fairchild sang with a Christian group, Truth.  Later, Fairchild and Schlapman moved to Nashville and began singing together. Jimi Westbrook and Phillip Sweet joined them in 1998 and Little Big Town was formed. As a member of Little Big Town she/they have been nominated for 16 Grammy Awards and won 4.
